Caption: This series was inspired by dinner preparations in my kitchen. I love to cook. I love when I have made enough time to do it slowly; listening to the sound of the vegetables as I chop them, being aware of the colours and textures, some smells immediately accessible, others revealed over time, hearing the frying pan or wok sizzle as I add ingredients.
I was cooking pasta one night and was standing over the stove, literally watching and waiting for the pot to boil. I added oil ( which many say you shouldn’t) and was mesmerized by the patterns and small prisms of light as the oil moved elegantly across the water. I got my camera and snapped a few photos and worked from that.
